This April, Diane will don a fat suit and blond wig to play the “big sisterly” waitress Laura in the feature THE EASY (written and directed by Michael Joshua). www.Entropyenterprise.com
Although the character’s outside will look different, Diane and Laura share the same big heart and helpful attitude. Diane also gets to play a SECRET second role!

Diane's Role takes shape in 'Morrow'
The latest on MORROW. Diane played the supporting role of hospice nurse Karen Kight in this feature.
Diane,
"Marrow is down to 89 minutes. Wayne Horvitz recorded the score a few weeks ago, and we're mixing that in now. Bob Hawk is acting as a consultant and he gave us 3 rounds of feedback before he said it was ready for festival submissions. It's really really good now. Very intense and emotional, with some real surprises. We should have a screening party soon for everyone involved.
Still trying to raise another 5k for an audio mix and some color-correction, which we'd like to begin soon.
Thanks for being in it. Your performance came out great!"

In December Diane used a British voice-over to help Julie Ruffell sell her book - SHADOWLANDS.
Laura Blake is overwhelmed by the mounting pressures over her estranged mother, while her memories and a painful anniversary haunt her. Desperate to battle through the onslaught, she turns to her most extreme coping mechanism: self injury.
Julie also wrote, directed, shot, produced, and edited the trailer.

Diane Performs Dr. Seuss for a Future Librarian
|
Diane performed her Dr. Seuss Show for a Future Librarian’s sixth Birthday. Naturally, her party was held in a library.
Lucia’s grandma held up the Dr. Seuss books so the kids (sitting on the floor) and adults (seated in chairs behind them) could enjoy the illustrations while Diane performed the stories.

Diane gets behind the camera
Once upon a time, while working on her Master’s degree, Diane established what became a lif- long friendship with her mentor, Nancy Harkrider. Time passed, the friendship grew, and Nancy spent time conducting Food Tours in Asia. When she recreated her website, she invited her friends to look.
Diane noticed the photos of Nancy lacked the glowing warmth and beauty of the friend she so adored. Knowing she could make good use of her photography hobby and headshot experiences, Diane offered to get together with Nancy and take some photos that would really make her, and her business, shine. (Besides, it was a great excuse to get together.)
Nancy arrived with clothes and props. Diane touched up Nancy’s makeup (which “younged” her while bringing out her twinkly eyes and big smile), then started clickety-clicking away.
Shortly after arriving at home, Nancy wrote:
What an absolute treasure you are! The pix are so authentic and so well framed.
My daughter in law was just here and said it made me look like someone she would like to travel with-- a great compliment. And the seven year old granddaughter predictably said, "If you really ate that chili, you wouldn't be smiling!”
I have picked four pictures to use initially in various places. And I am still smiling b/c of all the wonderful, special people in my circle of love, and smiling especially because I not only got some fantastic pictures but I had such a lovely, emotionally rich time with you.
Bless you and sending love,
Nance
Once the photos were on Nancy’s website (www.exploreculinaryasia.com), she wrote Diane yet another enthusiastic email:
Diane, darling,
You can find "photos by Diane" on my blog www.exploreculinaryasia.com -- an image on the About Nancy page and the Let's Cook in Asia page. What a difference!
And the image of me with the bowl and chop sticks is sprinkled liberally around my partner's site, www.epicopia.com
So announce it on Facebook -- crow a little about your skills.
Love you,
Nance
Thus, the mentee was able to turn the tables, and help her dear mentor. And the friendship continued, ever after.

***Official Website Launch for THE FIXER Heralds New Character for Actor Diane Matson***
For Immediate Release (August 4th, 2008)- Boston, MA
The official website for THE FIXER, the TV series based on the critically-acclaimed Lawson Vampire novels by Jon F. Merz, goes live this morning at www.thefixer.tv, and with it, all things Lawson are back better than ever before. Merz, the show's creator under his New Ronin Productions banner, describes the show as "James Bond with fangs. |
 |
Among the new characters is a vigilante who operates outside the purview of the vampire governing body, the Council. For Diane Matson, cast to play the enigmatic character Rogue, the role presents a great opportunity. "What appeals most to me is the fact that she gets to be this thorn in Lawson's side. And she likes to play with sharp toys."
Matson first met Merz on Facebook and later discovered that he was the author of one of her recent favorite short stories, "Prisoner 392," which appeared in the famed Borderlands 5 anthology. "I have a weakness for great writers and after Jon saw my demo reel, we finalized plans for me to play Rogue. I'm incredibly excited about the show and my part in it."
Along with extensive information about the world of Lawson, the website will also have video clips, the debut of the theme song composed by Boston musician [munk] whose work has previously appeared on TV shows like NCIS, The Sopranos, and many more, and frequently updated information on the show and novel re-releases. The production team behind THE FIXER is also expected to reveal the identity of its first major corporate sponsor later this week.
